What are the Campaign Specifics?

Campaign Objectives
The Asthma Rescue campaign has five primary goals:

  • Provide physician education throughout targeted areas;
  • Reverse the trend of increased asthma incidence in African-American, Hispanic and minority communities;
  • Position the NMA as a leading organization and authority in asthma treatment;
  • Maximize public and private partnership ; and
  • Increase public and community awareness.

Target Audiences
To maximize the impact and resources of this campaign, the following community and opinion leaders will be targeted:

  • African-Americans, Hispanics and other underserved populations
  • Physicians
  • Media
  • School officials
  • Religious & Civic Leaders
  • Corporations/Foundations
  • Pharmaceutical Companies

Target Locations
The following cities will be targeted in an effort to reach the greatest number of African-American and Hispanic residents with this campaign, the following cities will be targeted:

  • New York , NY
  • Washington , DC
  • Miami, FL
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Houston , TX
  • Chicago , IL
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Oakland, CA

These cities were selected because they each have a significant African-American and Hispanic populations and are all among the top media markets in the nation.
