Campaign Objectives
The Asthma Rescue campaign has five primary goals:
- Provide physician education throughout targeted areas;
- Reverse the trend of increased asthma incidence in African-American, Hispanic and minority communities;
- Position the NMA as a leading organization and authority in asthma treatment;
- Maximize public and private partnership ; and
- Increase public and community awareness.
Target Audiences
To maximize the impact and resources of this campaign, the following community and opinion leaders will be targeted:
- African-Americans, Hispanics and other underserved populations
- Physicians
- Media
- School officials
- Religious & Civic Leaders
- Corporations/Foundations
- Pharmaceutical Companies
Target Locations
The following cities will be targeted in an effort to reach the greatest number of African-American and Hispanic residents with this campaign, the following cities will be targeted:
- New York , NY
- Washington , DC
- Miami, FL
- Atlanta, GA
- Houston , TX
- Chicago , IL
- Los Angeles, CA
- Oakland, CA
These cities were selected because they each have a significant African-American and Hispanic populations and are all among the top media markets in the nation.
